Construction and Improvements
Middletown Trail Construction
– The Miami Conservancy District is continuing to develop the 28 mile trail extension of the Great Miami River Recreation Trail
[GMRRT] in Warren & Butler Counties from Crains Run Nature Park (Montgomery County) to Franklin, Middletown, Lemon Township, Monroe, Liberty Township and Fairfield Township to Hamilton in Butler County. The current work is from State Route 122 South from Middletown approximately
4 miles to State Route 73. It should be completed this Fall 2005.
Trail Construction in Taylorsville MetroPark – Five Rivers MetroParks has finished paving the 1.4 mile extension from the town of Tadmore in the Park North to Old Springfield Street. The trail now is 7.0 miles long from Old Springfield Street on the North boundary of the Park to Wagner Ford Road in Huber Heights.
Tipp City Trail Construction – Tipp City has completed a one mile trail extension from Canal Lock Park North to City Park on North 3rd Street. The trail joins the approximately 1 mile of trail that goes through City Park past the new Aquatic Center, past the baseball diamonds to the Nature Center.
Website
Changes and Improvements
Trail Etiquette – I’ve added a page to explain the “Rules Of The Trail”. The trails are called multi-use since walkers, runners, bladders, cyclists and on some trail equestrians are become.
Tipp City Trail
- I have taken pictures on the new trail and have added them to this page
Great Miami River Recreation Trail (Northern Segment) – I’ve modified the page to reflect the construction of a new 1.4 mile segment to take the trail to the Park’s Northern boundary, Old Springfield Street.
Miami County Bicycle Task Force Receives $1M - In the Highway Bill just signed by the President Miami County received an additional one million dollars for trail construction. The money will be used to build the trail from Piqua to Troy, which are Trail Sections 5 & 6.
