How To Navigate This Website
Or
(Help Getting Around)

We understand that finding things on a website can be a problem. This page is intended to help you find what you want from this website about multi-use trails in the Miami Valley (of Ohio). Let's start with the Home Page. It has five dropdown menus (In Blue) at the top of the page. Click on any of them on this page for more information about that menu.

It looks like this. From the left are: Trails By County, Trails By Name, Resources, Other Links and Site Map (Table of Contents). If you click on any of these links you will be taken to a page that explains everything available from that menu. But instead let's touch our mouse to Trails By County and we get this

You can now see each of the counties in the Miami Valley that have trails.

Each Menu works like the Trails By County drop down menu. For example if we know the name of the trail we can click on the next link to the right  "Trails By Name. If you click on Trails By Name you'll be taken to a page with all of them on it. If, however we slide our mouse over the list you'll see the drop down menu that you see below.

There are seventeen selections on this drop down menu. There is a name for each trail and the (County) it is in. The menu is a little deceptive. For example if you click on "Piqua Trails (Miami) ->  you'll get the page for the Piqua Activities Trail For Health.  The drop down also shows to right the three trails in Piqua the  Canal Run,  the Piqua Activities Trail For Health (P.A.T.H) and the The River's Edge  . If instead of looking in Trails By Name you had looked in Trails By County (explained above) and clicked on "Miami County Trails" you would have seen the same list except each would be identified as being in Piqua. Notice the arrows to right -> on some of the titles. That means that the pick has more than one choice. If you were to click on Little Miami Scenic Trail (Multiple) you'll get nine sections of this trail to click on. Also note the (Multiple) means the trail is not in just one county. If, however, you clicked on the name "Little Miami Scenic Trail" you'll be taken to the trail's "home page" for more information about each section of the trail.

The other two menus are  Resources and Other Links  work the same way. Several important pages on Resources you should know about are the Complete Ohio Trails List (Alphabetical) and

the Ohio Trails List (By County With Maps). I maintain a list of every trail in Ohio. You can find them in two ways. If you know the name of the trail go to the Complete Ohio Trails List (Alphabetical). Then look down the list for the trail whose name you know. But if you don't know the name or only want to find trails in a specific county of Ohio click on the Ohio Trails List (By County With Maps). You'll see a map of Ohio. Click on one area of Ohio. You'll be taken to a map of the region of Ohio, for example Northeast Ohio. On that map each of the county names is linked to the list of trails by county on that page. Also I provide a monthly (about) newsletter for my readers. You can subscribe by clicking on Monthly Newsletters.

Note: If you coming to the Miami Valley from out of town or out of state you need to click on Hotels, Motels, B&Bs and Campgrounds. Each webpage has a link to this page. I have spend a lot of time finding accommodations that are near the
trails and have put all the information by trail and by location on this page.

Search Tool  - If you don't know where else to look, try search. Every word on this website is indexed every week. So if you know a good search term, you should be able to find out what you are looking for. Remember your spelling!

The last menu is Other Links As you can see I include links to pages such as: What is New on this Website? Check this to see what I have been doing to the website. I have a List of Links page with links to other websites. The Trail Reviews by Glenn Oster are trail reviews that he has written. Then we have Bicycling Events where I advertise for those who wish additional publicity for their event. Then there is a page that tells you where you can ride your horse on  Horseback Riding On Trails. On What Is A RailTrail?  I explain what they are and also explain how this website came to be. I have information for those who wish to advertise in my website on Information for Advertisers and finally I have information about the numbers of people who use the trails and the economic impact of those trails on my Trail Usage Statistics page.

The drop down menus show neither every trail nor every page on this website. The reason is as follows. I have put on the drop down menus the most important information available on the website' links to each trail's webpage. HINT: However some trails are only in planning or in construction. Those trails can be found in the Table of Contents but not on the drop down menus. I hope that what I have shown you above will help you navigate this website.

Table of Contents (Site Map) - This page shows you the primary pages on the site like the Little Miami Scenic Trail and then it shows you all of the 10 pages that make that trail up.

Footer Webpage -  Every webpage on this site has a "Footer Page". That is a list of navigational tools to find pages from any page on the website. Just scroll down any page and you'll see the Footer that may have just where you want to go on it.
