Beavercreek Trail Connector
Bike Path 2A
.75 mile

Dedication of Beavercreek Trail Connector Phase 1 29 October 2005

This trail spur connects Beavercreek Township Park District's Community Park North .75 mile to Rotary Park crossing Dayton-Xenia Road. The spur connects to the trail alongside Dayton-Xenia Road and allows Beavercreek residents access to the Creekside Trail  from as far West as North Fairfield Road.

The Beavercreek Trail Connector starts at the Community Park at Factory Road and US-35. The Connector is a spur off of the Creekside Trail  and runs 3/4 mile North to Rotary Park on Dayton-Xenia Road.

Here we see the park looking from the West from Factory Road. You can see the flags that mark the memorial to the Girl Scouts and Leaders who were killed here by a train in 1959. This park is sometimes called "Angel's Pass" for that reason. You can see the trail leaving the park towards the East.

At right we have turned around and are looking East on the trail away from Beavercreek Community Park. Next to the trail on the left is a small pond with a fountain in it, decorative lighting, a paved walking path and benches. Beyond the pond to the West is Ohio's first bicycle campground. with three family campsites, electricity, parking, modern restrooms, fire rings and tables. For permit call 937-429-4472

Here we have turned left (North) from the photo above and are entering a small woods. We are traveling North towards Dayton-Xenia Road.  We are about 1/3 mile down the trail at this point. The trail goes through the woods for about 1/4 mile with several "S" turns.

At right we have come out of the woods. In the photo the trail turns right or South at the tree line and goes into the woods (see above). At the left of the photo is Dayton-Xenia Drive. We are .52 mile from "Angel's Pass."

We have reached Dayton-Xenia Road at the corner of Beaver Valley Road. Across the street to left is "Elano Corp. a local firm. There is a crosswalk here with a signal changing button. Please use it. The traffic on Dayton-Xenia Road can make the road difficult to cross. This signal will tell you how many seconds you have to cross the street.
To the right We have crossed Dayton-Xenia Road in this picture and are looking East towards Rotary Park. There is a farmhouse next to the road with a barn behind it. You can see their mailbox at right. The house and barn are both bright red.

Here we have reached the left hand turn into Rotary Park. We are almost at the current trail's end. Rotary Park has restrooms and water for your use.
In this photo we are still at the Rotary Park entrance off of Dayton-Xenia Drive but we are looking back (West) from where we have already ridden. Now you can see the red farmhouse and barn behind it. In the distance you may be able to see a white SUV sitting at the signal at Beaver Valley Road.

Here we have turned into Rotary Park. The trail has been built next to the park road.
Here we are at trail's end. Use the park road North and East to the park road bridge. Restrooms are available near the bridge plus a shelter house and play equipment. New share-the-road signs will be installed along park road.

The trail will follow the road back to the ball field complex. The trail leaves the road and behind the outfield fence, next to the water treatment plant grounds, goes into Hunter's Ridge and terminates in the neighborhood park. Access from two major developments will enable trail users to reach the trail system without going onto Beaver Valley Road.

Phase 2 of this project has been awarded for construction and should be complete later this year (2005). The entire trail will be about 1.7 mile long .
