Ellis Park Spur (From the Little Miami Scenic Trail)

Click on photo for larger image	These pictures are of the finished Ellis Park Spur. This photo shows the spur going off to the West towards Ellis Park on Polecat Road. We are looking West towards the park.

Here we are looking downat the spur. This trail turns left from the Little Miami Scenic Trail and runs downhill from the old railbed until it gets to the level of the farmers fields.	Click on photo for larger image

Click on photo for larger image	In this photo we are looking back up the the trail to the first turn near the trail as it winds through trees. The trail makes an "S" curve as it comes down from the Little Miami Scenic Trail. It's a great place to "coast down the hill" for many of us. The two ladies were taking a hike to Ellis Park.

Here we are coming out of the woods. We can see the farmer's field in the background. Across that field and Polecat Road (No. I am not making up the name) is Ellis Park.	Click on photo for larger image

Click on photo for larger image	Here we have come down the "S Curve." We are looking back towards the Little Miami Scenic Trail which is along the tree line in the background. Ellis Park is behind us and the photo was shot looking East.

In this photo we are looking West at Polecat Road. The two ladies are crossing the road and just ahead is Ellis Park. You can see the trail curve right to follow Polecat Road and take you into the park.	Click on photo for larger image

Click on photo for larger image	We have arrived at Ellis Park. You can walk around the pond that is in the park. Ellis Park looks to be about 3 acres or so between Polecat Road and two farmers fields. A nice stream runs along the border of the park with one of the soybean fields. We are looking at the picnic shelter and the portable restroom next to it.

Ellis Park currently has two picnic shelters, water, portable restroom, a pond and parking. You can see the newly paved parking lot and the trail ending at it. You may find Ellis Park a good place to park and ride during the busier months of the year.	Click on photo for larger image

	In this last photo we are leaving Ellis Park and crossing over Polecat Road which you can see here. In about .36 miles you'll be back on the Little Miami Scenic Trail.
