Miami Valley Trails in Google
Earth -
Google Earth maps of the entire
trail system – A very helpful reader, Mr. Mike Monett, spent a lot of time
building the entire trails system into Goggle Earth. Click
Here to get to Mike's Home Page to see his webpage about the trails system. You will need to
download and installed the free Goggle
Earth software to take advantage of these new maps with links to my
website. Mike’s downloadable file will enable you to see all of the trails in
the system including some “Bird’s Eye” views of certain areas.
Because he has marked the trails in planning in red you can see where our trail
system will expand in the future. On the maps those places marked with
a “P” have more information, including “Bird’s Eye” views
and links to the webpage on my website that has the detailed information to go
along with Mike's efforts Mike says: "Keep watching. I am
improving the map system all of the time and you can expect additional
features." Also, If you see something on the maps that doesn't look right
please let me know and I'll forward your concerns to Mike so we can make changes
and remove mistakes.
Trails
in the Miami Valley (Google Maps) - Recently one of my readers
told me that he was working on maps in
Google Maps for the entire Miami Valley Trails System.
I looked at his work and have signed in as a collaborator. The maps are not
completed and need some work but J.D. Mackieiwcz, the author of the work, is
to be commended. I recommend that you look at what he (and I) have done. If
you'd like to help, we would welcome you.
Great Miami River
Recreation Trail Map (Online) - Please see the Miami Conservancy
District's (MCD) new interactive on-line maps of the entire Great Miami
River Recreation Trail. This includes the trail in Miami, Montgomery, Warren and
Butler Counties. Best of all, you can zoom in on the area you wish to ride. I am
told that this on-line map system is a "work in progress." MCD plans
to improve it so that you can tell the system where you want to ride and you'll
be able to print maps to order for Your Ride!
New
