Starting Monday May 9, 2022, the Little Miami Scenic Trail will be closed at Grandin Road for a project to replace the King Avenue bridge, add a roundabout, and realign the Trail itself. The Warren County Engineer's office announced the specific date for this closure on April 28, 2022. Access from the trail to the Peter’s Cartridge Factory and to Cartridge Brewing will be maintained at all times from the southwest. The Trailhead parking lot, however, is closed. While it had been anticipated that the trail would be open between some phases of the project, that will not occur. It is now hoped that the trail will reopen in December of 2023.
A detour has been posted for this closure, however, it involves significant distance on some very busy roads with some steep terrain: US 22 and State Route 48. Only the most confident of riders should attempt this detour. You can download maps of the posted detour here:
This location is site of the iconic Peters Cartridge Company and the tower smokestack.
There are approximately 23 miles of the Little Miami Scenic Trail south of this closure and approximately 54 miles of the trail north of the closure.
