Mad River Trail Detour Through September 2017

The Mad River Trail as it passes under the Harshman Road bridge is closed as the bridge undergoes a complete re-construction. A short detour has been put in place that will route trail users safely across Harshman Road with a push-button type crossing. Work on the bridge is scheduled through September of 2017.

Push buttons (pictured below) are provided on both sides of Harshman Road. We have tested them, and they both work.  The detour route follows the Eastwood MetroPark entrance road and also the access road for the Dayton wellfield. The detour is no more than 0.2 miles longer than the trail section that is bypassed.
