Trail to be Closed at Woodman Drive

The Ohio Department of Transportation and the City of Riverside have begun a project improving Woodman Drive over US 35 and north of US 35. The work closes a portion of the Creekside Trail on both sides of Woodman Avenue, starting April 1, 2023 and scheduled to be completed by January 31, 2024. There will be a signed detour in place for the duration of the closure, shown in the photo below as the orange route.

The construction contractor built a new connection from the trail to Obie Street, east of Woodman Ave. in April 2023; the detour went into effect on April 19, 2023. From Obie Street the detour rides on streets, mostly through residential neighborhoods, and crosses Woodman Drive on Burkhardt Road. The detour meets back up with the trail in the vicinity of the new Kroger (old K-Mart). Please be aware: there are some pretty good sized hills in the neighborhood and the crossing of Woodman Drive at Burkhardt is a very busy intersection - be sure to observe the traffic signals.

Trail users approaching this closure from the south on the Iron Horse Trail will see signage at the intersection of Iron Horse and the Creekside Trail advising to continue north to access the detour.

Proceed in the direction of the arrow (north) to reach Burkhardt Road and the Creekside Trail detour. Trail users should still be able to access the Woodman Park Apartments complex from the Creekside Trail.
