Miles for Freedom

The mission of Miles for Freedom is to bring awareness and funding to ministries that support the restoration and freedom of people. We will use the event as a platform for others to become involved in a tangible and sacrificial way. Our pain in sport and giving will be for a purpose. To see broken walls rebuilt.

The group rides invite inline skaters, long boarders, cyclist, walkers, runners and other athletes to join in this fight for freedom. In 2013 we had all types of people come out in support. Gem City Derby Girls and guys came out in full derby gear to complete 7.2 miles. One pastor from Apex Community Church, Jason Wing, encouraged 30 people to walk/run 2.4 miles totaling 72 miles. Another youth group walked silently in solemn memory of the 27 million. Pro Inline Skaters from GA, Ohio and Indiana participated in the full 72 distance in rainy cold conditions. Other participants combined sports to challenge their bodies to go the maximum distance. One lady even came from Alaska to cycle the 72 miles! It’s up to you how many miles your team completes. The point is to take a stand for freedom while raising awareness and funds for those who have limited freedoms.

This event starts in Eastwood MetroPark and uses the Creekside Trail.  Follow this link to Register
