Bike Rodeo and Workshop

Volunteers are needed for registration, helmet fitting, and cone course set-up for this program for the youth of the Miami Valley ages 3-15. Inside Wegerzyn Center, a helmet distribution point is set up along with registration for the event. Outside there is a cone course set up for students to ride their bikes through, allowing parents to see how well their student understands the rules of the road. Volunteers are also needed for cone set up and to be a guide to students going through the cone course. Cone set up time 8:30-9:00am. A lunch will be provided for all volunteers at 11:30am. Homemade baked goods will be available to all volunteers during the entire event.

Workshop: For adults wanting to learn how to set up a bike rodeo in their community, this rodeo will have a learning component with it. Anyone volunteering over 3 hrs. is eligible to receive the course materials, a certificate, and registered to win a set of the signs used for the event.  Please email lzimmerman@metroparks.org or call 277-4823 if interested.
