City of Springboro Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan Public Meeting

The City of Springboro through its Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) will be holding a Public Meeting on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. regarding its Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan. The Meeting will take place in the Community Room located in the Springboro City Building located at 320 West Central Avenue.

The Public Meeting will be facilitated by The Greenway Collaborative, Inc., the consulting firm that is assisting the City and BPAC with work on the Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan. The Meeting will begin with a presentation of existing bike and pedestrian conditions; an examination of the potential for new facilities; and an analysis of the results of a recently completed web-based bicycle and pedestrian survey. Following the presentation, a number of visioning exercises will take place including individual and small group exercises to refine draft goals and objectives, identify areas of concern and map out desired routes.

The Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan is intended to serve as a guide for Springboro City Council, its boards and commissions including BPAC and City staff for making long-term decisions on bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure and policies. The plan is expected to be completed in December. For more about the plan visit http://www.greenwaycollab.com/Projects/Springboro/Springboro.html.

BPAC was established by Springboro City Council in 2009 to help make Springboro a nationally recognized bike and pedestrian friendly community and to advise the City on pedestrian and bicycle matters.
