Greene Trails Cycling Classic - Weekend Edition

The Greene Trails Cycling Classic is back but this time it is the Weekend Edition!

After a three-year hiatus, Greene County Parks & Trails will once again host the Greene Trails Cycling Classic. With a few key differences from past Cycling Classics, this event will be held Thursday through Saturday, August 25, 26, and 27.

"We are taking the ride back to its original intent – to support the local businesses along the trail corridor," said Robin Gregory, Manager, Special Events & Programs. The event will be based out of Fairgrounds Recreation Center in Xenia.

Riders arriving Thursday can enjoy the comfort of a local hotel or bed and breakfast, or secure a camping spot at the Greene County Fairgrounds and Expo Center by calling (937) 372-8621.

Over the course of Friday and Saturday, riders will be able to choose from several rides including a Century ride, a Metric Century ride, and others. One option will be a casual ride to the Village of Yellow Springs where riders can enjoy local eateries and artisan stores before visiting the world famous Young's Jersey Dairy for ice cream.

The event will conclude Saturday evening with a ride celebration at the Fairgrounds Recreation Center. Riders will enjoy a picnic and awards for those who completed one of the Century Rides. Participants should bring a blanket or chairs.

Dinner on Saturday is the only meal provided. All other meals, including breakfasts, will be at the expense of the registrants. Standard rest stops will not be provided.
