LMST Repaving Celebration

A public celebration will be held Saturday, May 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Miami Riverview Park, 587 Branch Hill-Loveland Rd., Loveland, Ohio, in recognition of the repaving of 8 miles of the Little Miami Scenic Trail.

Representatives of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, project contractor KZF Design, the City of Loveland, Miami Township, and Friends of the Little Miami State Park will speak.

The project, funded by a $750,000 grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund, included drainage improvements in the southern trail section and widening of the trail through downtown Loveland.

The May 20 celebration comes 33 years after the trail’s dedication in May 1984, also held in Loveland. The brand-new multi-purpose trail was one of the first Rails to Trails initiatives in the nation and ran 13.5 miles from Loveland to Morrow. Today, the trail is 73 miles long, a major part of the largest regional trails network in the nation and forming the southern section of the 330-mile Ohio to Erie Trail. Fifty miles of the trail form the trail-corridor Little Miami State Park, Ohio’s most-visited state park with over 1.2 million uses in 2016.
