Ohio-to-Erie Trail Adventure

Reservations are Now Being Taken for the 4th Annual OTET Adventure Ride September 9-15, 2017!

Only 18 spots remaining as of 4-13-17

The ride is scheduled for September 9 thru September 15. This seven day, six night tour of Ohio on the Ohio to Erie Trail (Ohio Bike Route #1) is one day and one night longer than the 2016 adventure at the recommendation of the 2016 participants. You may register now in the Ohio-to-Erie Trail Foundation online store. Only 40 riders will be permitted to join this great adventure!

This year Mark Looney, author of A Path Through Ohio, a travel log of the author’s adventure ride of his own on the OTET joins the tourto chronicle the many changes along the route and to talk and visit with our 40 riders.

Daily mileage ranges from 40 to 70 with nightly stays in Xenia, Columbus, Mt. Vernon, Millersburg, Massillon  and Akron. The entire 320 miles is fully supported with a luggage/bike vehicle, mechanic and OTET staffers. The 2017 adventure will feature several new route sections in Columbus, Galena, Centerburg, and Holmes County.  All registered riders will receive a copy of the new $15 OTET Tour Guide that is coming out February 2. Trail surfaces are fine for road bikes, hybrids and mountain bikes. The OTET ride is considered a beginner to intermediate level adventure. While 90% of the trail is essentially flat, there are some hills along the way but none that are too long to just enjoy walking. Participants only need to carry what they will need for the day. By the 2017 adventure, 280 miles will be on paved trail while the remaining 50 miles will be on specially selected streets and roads. Weather in September in Ohio is typically dry with temps ranging from morning lows of 45-55 to afternoons of 70-80…perfect for bike travel.
