Minnesota Couple Riding Their Bicycles Pulling A Canoe From Ely Minnesota to Washington DC Making A Stop In Centerville, Ohio.

Amy and Dave Freeman, National Geographic Explorers of The Year, are giving a presentation at Great Miami Outfitters on May 31st as part of their “PEDAL TO DC: Book Tour to Save the Boundary Waters”

Covering 1,750 miles and crossing nine states, authors and 2014 National Geographic Adventurers of the Year Amy and Dave Freeman will pedal from Ely, Minnesota to Washington, D.C. to promote their new book, “A Year in the Wilderness: Bearing Witness in the Boundary Waters” (Milkweed Editions), and to continue their efforts to protect the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW).

The project became A Year in the Wilderness: Bearing Witness in the Boundary Waters, a critically-acclaimed, illustrated account of their adventure, which tells the deeper story of the value, beauty, and fragility of wild places.

The Freemans will be riding their bicycles pulling their canoe on May 31st on some of the Miami Valley’s Paved Bike Trails, from Brookville, Ohio to downtown Dayton, then through Oakwood, Kettering and Centerville. After the presentation, the Freemans will sell their book and do book signings, as well as answer any questions.
