Slow Roll Wilberforce to Cedarville

As a part of the Greene County History Week celebration. Riders will meet at 5:45 p.m. at the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center (NAAMCC), 1350 Brush Row Rd. in Wilberforce. Dr. Charles Wash, NAAMCC director says, “The Slow Roll is about more than cycling. We all need the stress relief of fresh air, exercise, and good times with family, friends and neighbors. These rides also allow participants to learn about parts of their communities they may not know existed!”

On July 19, the group will leave NAAMCC and cycle to Massie Creek Cemetery in Cedarville. Jeremy Shea of the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural will give a guided tour of some of the more notable African Americans buried at Massie Creek Cemetery. In addition, Mrs. Laverne Sci will perform as Wilberforce University educator Hallie Q. Brown. Mrs. Sci is an historic interpreter and was the former manager of the Paul Lawrence Dunbar Historic Home in Dayton, which is one of the 50+ historic sites of the Ohio History Connection.
