From May 7-9, it will be necessary to close Island MetroPark to public access due to hazards resulting from park renovations. It will also be necessary to detour the Great Miami Trail around Island MetroPark. This image shows the planned detour.

Beginning Wednesday, May 7, the contractor will be working on the removal of deteriorated asphalt from existing walk paths to be restored and from paths to be permanently removed. The next two days, on Thursday and Friday, May 8-9, they will return to place new asphalt on the new section of the Great Miami Trail and existing walking paths to be restored.
