LMST to close between Xenia and Yellow Springs

As construction continues on the new bridge linking the Little Miami Scenic Trail to Great Council State Park, the LMST will be closed in the vicinity of Brush Row Road for a period of two months starting approximately April 15, 2026.

ODOT will be posting a detour for this closure. The detour will be about 2/3 of a mile along US 68.

When Bicycling south to north (from Xenia): turn left off the trail onto Old Springfield Pike and then turn right onto US 68/shoulder. Proceed north to Brush Row Road, and turn right. Proceed on Brush Row Road to the LMST and turn left to resume route to Yellow Springs. This is depicted by the blue dots on the map.

When Bicycling north to south (from Yellow Springs): Turn right onto Brush Row Road and proceed west to US 68. When traffic is clear and safe, cross US 68 and proceed south (left turn) on US 68 or the shoulder. At Old Springfield Pike, cross US 68 again when traffic is clear/safe and proceed to the LMST. Turn right onto the trail to continue to Xenia. This is depicted by the red dots on the map.

Trail users on foot: Heading north or south, pedestrians may use the shoulder on east side of US 68. This is the route depicted by the blue dots.

See the map below:

This stretch of US 68 has a fairly decent shoulder and confidant cyclists may feel comfortable riding on that shoulder. Speed limits in this area vary from 45 to 55 miles per hour.
