Greene County Trails Night Ride

Greene County Trails Night Ride

Every Other Saturday at 7pm

Xenia, Ohio---Enjoy a free evening bicycle ride escorted by Greene County Parks and Trails (GCPT) volunteer Trail Sentinels held periodically during the Spring, Summer and Fall.

Participants must wear a helmet and have lights.  Rides will be cancelled in case of a thunderstorm.

The monthly night rides feature different sections of the 62 miles of paved multi-use trails managed by Greene County Parks and Trails.  Greene County Parks and Trails Sentinels are a volunteer organization that routinely ride the trails and participate in special events supporting the trail system.

Organized by GCPT Ranger Sgt. Bill Nickell, 22 local community volunteers can be found on the trails offering assistance with bike maintenance, first-aid, information, trail maintenance, ranger assistance and much more.

“We could not do the work we do with our extensive system of trails in Greene County without the dedicated efforts of our GCPT Trail Sentinels,” says Nickell.  “It’s been an honor and a pleasure to work with these dedicated community resident volunteers. Our team of volunteers interacted with 1,164 visitors last year, assisted with 96 trail maintenance projects and five park ranger assists.”

Easily recognized by their Greene County Parks and Trails uniform shirt and jacket, trail sentinels are trained by completing a CPR certification class and a skilled performance procedure.
