Great Miami Trail Re-Opens North of Miamisburg

Trail damage caused by heavy storms in June resulted in a trail closure at Sycamore Creek, just north of downtown Miamisburg.  As of July 7, 2014, this trail repair project has been completed by the Miami Conservancy District and the trail has been re-opened for use by the general public. You can read more about the issue here.

Many thanks to MCD for a fast project to restore the trail, and to you for your patience.

Robert J. Shook Bridge Project Begins

September 10, 2013, the Great Miami River Trail bridge over the Great Miami River between Piqua and Troy moved into the construction phase with a ceremonial groundbreaking. This bridge will complete the last trail gap between Piqua, OH and the rest of the Miami Valley Trails. A large group of well wishers came to witness the groundbreaking, done by Bob Shook, who has been a leader in Miami County regarding trail development for over 15 years.

The bridge is scheduled to be completed in 2014.
