September 8 & 22, 2012

Description: Students must have bicycle and helmet for both classes. First class: Classroom and parking lot maneuvers. Second class: Classroom and ride in traffic. League diploma to be presented at graduation.

Tour de 'Burg 2012

Bike Races

Miamisburg’s 8th Annual TOUR d’BURG, sponsored by Kettering Medical Center – Sycamore, will be held on Sunday, June 24, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM in historic downtown Miamisburg, just 3 miles west of the Dayton Mall on Route 725.

This event is free and open to the public with free parking. Top amateur and professional level men and women Criterion racers will compete in USA Cycling sanctioned races in historic downtown Miamisburg, Ohio. This family-friendly event features a food court, a kids’ parade plus other activities geared to children of all ages.

Bike to the Dragons

Hop on your bike with the family and head downtown to watch one of the most exciting sporting events in the region.  The first 40 cyclists for each event to register on the Dragon’s Website and “Bike to the Dragons Game” will win a pack of prizes courtesy of Five Rivers MetroParks, Dayton Dragons, and the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission. Valet Bike Parking will be available for those who Bike to the Dragons starting at 1:00 pm.

Adult Ride (18 years of age and over) 22, 42 and 62 mile rides, pull out time 7:30 a.m.
Family Fun Ride (with children 17 years of age and under) 5 mile ride, pull out time 9:30 a.m.
A parent or guardian is required to accompany all participants 12 years of age and under.

Adult Ride $20.00 per person
Family Ride $5.00 per person

Paul G. Duke Memorial Bikeway to Open - Troy, OH

Troy, Ohio  - The Miami County Park District will officially open the “Paul G. Duke Memorial Bikeway” on Friday, June 8 at 10 a.m.  The opening will take place in the parking lot of the Apostolic Church of Christ – 1624 N. County Rd. 25A.

Beavercreek Bike Rodeo

The City of Beavercreek will hold a Bike Rodeo on June 9 from 9 AM to 11 AM (rain date June 16). The event will take place at Shaw School (3560 Kemp Road) on the parking lot behind the school. The Rodeo is open to youngsters in kindergarten thru the sixth grade. Participants should bring their bicycles and helmets. They will be required to demonstrate five bicycling skills.  Prizes will be awarded by age division.
