of the newest segment of the Miami Valley Trails:
Grab your girls and prepare to be pampered! Artemis Center for Alternatives to Domestic Violence is gearing up for their annual all ladies bike ride, Girls Gone Riding! This year’s ride will take place on September 14th beginning at the University of Dayton River Campus. Riders will have the option of a 10, 16, 22, or 28 mile route along the Great Miami River filled with plenty of swag, activities, and entertainment all along the way! Last year’s event drew over 300 riders and already confirmed riders for this year’s event joining us all the way from Arizona!
The “Friends of Xenia Station”, also known as FOXS, latest endeavor in their efforts to enhance the Xenia Station Bike Hub is the installation of a public bicycle repair station consisting of a heavy duty, permanently installed bike stand and dual-valve, and gauged air pump. Xenia Station’s fiX-it-Station is the first public repair station in the Miami Valley, and the first of its kind in the State of Ohio. FOXS intention is to aid bicyclists with emergency, on-the-go repairs such as broken chains and flat tires.
You are invited to participate, along with law enforcement agencies throughout the Miami Valley area, in the 5th Annual Miami Valley Police Memorial Week Bike Tour on Saturday, 11, 2013, at 8:00 a.m., at Riverscape, 111 E Monument Ave, Dayton. This event is held to honor and bring awareness to our fallen members in law enforcement that have made the ultimate sacrifice for their community and in support of their surviving family members and friends. This ride is held in conjunction with the National Police Memorial Week.
