Best Towns for 2017

Outside Magazine recently published a list of the twenty-five best towns for outdoor activity and adventure for 2017. There are plenty of entries from Colorado and California, of course. Also on the list you'll find our own Dayton, Ohio.  Here's a little of what the article has to say about the Gem City:

Miami Valley Trail user, Greg Smith recently shared his trail commute to work with us through our Tell Us Your Story page. The Market to Market® Relay Ohio covers 76 miles over 19 stages on a beautiful and varied course from Cincinnati to Dayton. Teams of 6, 7 or 8 runners hop in a van, run, rest, and repeat. The course follows the Little Miami Scenic Trail, the Creekside Trail, the Mad River Trail, paved streets, back roads and urban trails through a wild and scenic slice of southwestern Ohio.

Ride your bike to the Yellow Springs Brewery along the Little Miami Scenic Trail and while you're enjoying an excellent cold beverage, have your bike checked up, lubed up, and aired up for just $20.00.

Yellow Springs Street Fair - Bike Valet Parking

Ride your bicycle to Yellow Springs along the Little Miami Scenic Trail with some friends and Bike Miami Valley, Black Pug Bike Repair, and YS Chamber of Commerce will provide the bike valet parking for free! Find the bike parking area tent on Dayton St. behind the station in the shade. No need to bring a lock, volunteers are parking and watching bikes for festival goers from 9 AM - 5 PM during the Street Fair.

Trail Talk - Spring 2017

Trail Talk returns as we become better accustomed to our new web site design! In this issue of Trail Talk we'll have a short retrospective on the 2017 Miami Valley Cycling Summit in Greene County, and take a little tour of the Miami Valley Trails web site with a particular look at the Events Calendar.

Artemis Gone Riding

A cycling event to end domestic violence.

Celebrate with your pedal crews and gear up for a great cause. Choose from 10, 16, 22, or 28 mile routes. Registrations include brunch provided by Christopher's, a swag bag and event t-shirt. VIP upgrades will be available for mimosa bar, beer garden and VIP parking. Teams may enter for the Team Challenge. Registration will begin at 7:30 am, the ride will start at 8:30 am.

Registration will be through the Artemis Center web site.

Ohio-to-Erie Trail Adventure

Reservations are Now Being Taken for the 4th Annual OTET Adventure Ride September 9-15, 2017!

Only 18 spots remaining as of 4-13-17

The ride is scheduled for September 9 thru September 15. This seven day, six night tour of Ohio on the Ohio to Erie Trail (Ohio Bike Route #1) is one day and one night longer than the 2016 adventure at the recommendation of the 2016 participants. You may register now in the Ohio-to-Erie Trail Foundation online store. Only 40 riders will be permitted to join this great adventure!

LMST Repaving Celebration

A public celebration will be held Saturday, May 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Miami Riverview Park, 587 Branch Hill-Loveland Rd., Loveland, Ohio, in recognition of the repaving of 8 miles of the Little Miami Scenic Trail.

Representatives of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, project contractor KZF Design, the City of Loveland, Miami Township, and Friends of the Little Miami State Park will speak.
